  1. PROMOTION DESCRIPTION.  The Rent-A-Center® Worry-Free Cruisin’ Summer Sweepstakes (“Promotion”) consists of a Daily Sweepstakes (the “Daily Sweepstakes”) and a Grand Prize Sweepstakes (the “Grand Prize Sweepstakes”) and an In-Store Sweepstakes (the "In-Store Sweepstakes").  The Promotion begins at 12:00:01 AM Central Time ("CT") on 6/29/08 and ends at 11:59:59 PM CT on 8/23/08 (“Promotion Period”).  For purposes of this Promotion, a “Day” is defined as any twenty-four hour time period beginning at 12:00:00 AM CT of a calendar day and ending at 11:59:59 PM CT of the same calendar day and a "Week" is defined as each seven (7) day period beginning every Sunday at 12:00:01 AM CT and ending each Saturday at 11:59:59 PM CT.  One winner will be selected from among all entries received for each Day of the Promotion Period for the Daily Sweepstakes, two (2) Grand Prize winners will be selected from among all entries received for each Week of the Promotion Period for the Grand Prize Sweepstakes and one (1) In-Store Sweepstakes winner will be selected at the end of the Promotion Period from among all eligible entries received in each participating store (via kiosk or purchase entry as described below) for the In-Store Sweepstakes.
  1. ELIGIBILITY: Open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and Canada (excluding Quebec) who are eighteen (18) years of age or older or are the age of majority or older in their state/province of primary residence.  Employees of Rent-A-Center, Inc. its parent company, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies (collectively, the "Promotion Entities") and immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each are not eligible to participate.  All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.
  1. HOW TO ENTER THE DAILY SWEEPSTAKES:  There are three (3) ways to enter the Daily Sweepstakes:
    1. ONLINE ENTRY: To enter online, go to www.worryfreesummer.com (“Website”) during the Promotion Period and follow the instructions to register and enter the Daily Sweepstakes.  Registration is free.  Online entries must be completed by 8/23/08 at 11:59:59 PM (CT).
    1. PURCHASE ENTRY:  During the Promotion Period, visit one of the participating Rent-A-Center stores and receive an automatic entry into the Daily Sweepstakes upon completion of a new rental agreement.  Rental agreement entries must be completed by the close of business on 8/23/08.
    1. ON-SITE ENTRY WITHOUT PURCHASE:  During the Promotion Period, visit one of the participating Rent-A-Center stores and locate a Promotion Kiosk.  Follow the on-screen instructions to enter the Daily Sweepstakes via the Promotion Kiosk.  Entry via the Promotion Kiosk is free.  Promotion Kiosk entries must be received by close of business on 8/23/08.
    1. MAIL-IN ENTRY: You may also enter the Daily Sweepstakes on a plain piece of 3”x 5” piece of paper, by hand printing your complete name, address, date of birth, daytime and evening phone numbers, e-mail address (if available) and the words, “Rent-A-Center Worry Free Summer Sweepstakes”, and mail it in an envelope with sufficient postage affixed to: Rent-A-Center® Worry-Free Summer Cruisin’ Sweepstakes, Dept. RAC 15851, Dallas Parkway Suite 725, Addison, TX 75001.  Mail in entries must be postmarked by 8/23/08 and received by 8/30/08. 

REFERRAL DAILY SWEEPSTAKES BONUS ENTRIES – IN-STORE Promotion KIOSK ENTRY ONLY: When you enter from an in-store Promotion Kiosk, you have the option of providing friends'/relatives' email addresses to obtain additional bonus entries into the Daily Sweepstakes.  You may submit an email address for a bonus Daily Sweepstakes entry by following the online instructions on the Promotion Kiosk.  For each valid email address you provide, you will receive one (1) additional entry into the Sweepstakes for a maximum of ten (10) bonus referral entries during the Promotion Period.  When you provide the Sponsor with friends'/relatives' email addresses, the Sponsor may send an email to your friend/relative, inviting him/her to visit the Website to register and enter the Promotion.  If he/she chooses to register, he/she will be given the option of opting in to the Sponsor’s mailing list.  You must obtain each friend's/relative's permission to submit his/her information prior to submitting your referral entry.  You may only enter each friend's/relative's information once.  Original entrant's friend/relative will not be entered into the Sweepstakes unless he/she visits the Website and successfully registers and enters the Promotion.

Rent-A-Center, Inc. (“Sponsor”) is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, illegible, incomplete, damaged, postage due or mutilated mail.  No mechanically reproduced, altered, forged, or facsimile entries will be accepted.  All entries are the property of Sponsor.  In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of an entrant, any online entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the Authorized Account Holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry, provided that person meets all eligibility requirements set forth in these Official Rules.  “Authorized Account Holder” means the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address.  Limit one (1) Daily Sweepstakes entry per household, per day, regardless of method of entry.Entrants may not participate with multiple email addresses per Day, nor may entrants use any device or artifice to enter multiple times per Day or as multiple entrants per Day.  Any entrant who attempts to enter with multiple email addresses per Day, under multiple identities or uses any other device or artifice to enter multiple times per Day will be disqualified from participation in the Promotion and all entries submitted by the entrant will be void.  Sponsor is not responsible for any change to email address, mailing address and/or telephone number of entrants. 

  1. GRAND PRIZE SWEEPSTAKES ENTRY: Entrants will automatically receive one (1) entry into the Grand Prize Sweepstakes upon the successful completion of a valid Daily Sweepstakes entry, regardless of method of entry.
  1. RANDOM DRAWING: Winners in the Daily Sweepstakes will be randomly drawn on a weekly basis for each Day of the Promotion Period from among all eligible entries received for each respective Day during the Promotion Period (for Mail-In entries, you will be entered into the Daily Sweepstakes random drawing corresponding to the date your entry is postmarked).  Two (2) winners of the Grand Prize Sweepstakes will be drawn for each Week of the Promotion Period from among all eligible entries received  for each respective Week during the Promotion Period (for Mail-In entries, you will be entered into the Grand Prize Sweepstakes random drawing for the Week corresponding to the date your entry is postmarked).  Winners in the In-Store Sweepstakes will be randomly drawn at the end of the Promotion Period from among all eligible entries received via the in-store methods of entry (with purchase and via Promotion Kiosk).  The random drawings will be conducted by an independent judging organization, whose decisions are final and binding.  The potential prize winners will be notified by telephone and/or mail and/or e-mail, using contact information provided or collected at the time of entry.  Sponsor shall have no liability for any winner notification that is lost, intercepted or not received by a potential winner for any reason.  If the prize or prize notification is returned as unclaimed or undeliverable to such potential winner, such potential winner will forfeit his or her prize and an alternate winner may be selected.  Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may attempt to contact up to three (3) potential winners of a prize in accordance with the above procedure, after which the prize in question may go unawarded if it remains unclaimed.  If any potential prize winner is found to be ineligible, or if he or she has not complied with these Official Rules or declines the prize for any reason prior to award, such potential prize winner will be disqualified and an alternate prize winner may be selected.   Limit one (1) Daily Sweepstakes prize and one (1) Grand Prize Sweepstakes and one (1) In-Store prize per person throughout the Promotion Period.  For Canadian residents only: to claim a prize, Canadian residents must first correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, a mathematical skill-testing question at a mutually agreed upon time.  The question must be answered correctly within a pre-determined amount of time.  In the event that it is not answered correctly, the selected person will be disqualified and an alternate winner may be selected as provided for herein
  1. PRIZES/APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUES ("ARV")/ODDS:

Grand Prize Sweepstakes Prizes – Sixteen (16) Grand Prizes are available (two prizes per Week): Each Grand Prize consists of a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu LT 4-dr Sedan w/2LT (2.4L - 4 cylinder)/MSRP $24,675 ea.  The Grand Prize also consists of a $5,000 VIP Select Gift Card; a Sportster 5 (model # SP4TK1) SIRIUS® Satellite Radio (includes hardware and one (1) year of service) (ARV $250); and a Global Positioning System (GPS) (ARV $250).  VIP Select Gift Card is subject to terms and conditions associated with its use.  SIRIUS® service is subject to terms and conditions of service provider.  Total maximum ARV of each Grand Prize is $30,425.  Color and options of vehicle are to be determined at the sole discretion of Sponsor.  Vehicle prize delivery will occur via Sponsor-selected dealership nearest winner’s residence.  Title, taxes, registration and insurance fees are the sole responsibility of the winner.  Winner must reside in the U.S., Canada or Puerto Rico at the time of vehicle delivery and must possess a current, valid driver’s license.  Grand Prize winners will be required to show proof of driver’s license and automobile insurance prior to taking delivery of prize.  Grand Prize Cash Option – A Grand Prize winner may, at his/her sole discretion, opt to receive a cash option of $15,000 in lieu of accepting the Grand Prize detailed above.  Cash option prize will be awarded in the form of a check to the winner.

In-Store Sweepstakes Prizes - Three thousand and fifty (3,050) In-Store Prizes (one prize per participating store) are available. Each In-Store Prize consists of a $150 VIP Select Gift Card (plus $9.95 initial program activation fee – to be waived by Sponsor).  Gift Card is subject to terms and conditions associated with its use. 

Total ARV of all prizes $1,014,319.50. Daily Sweepstakes Prizes are not redeemable for cash.  Odds of winning a Daily Sweepstakes prize depend on total number of eligible entries received each Day of the Promotion from all methods combined.  Odds of winning a Grand Prize in the Grand Prize Sweepstakes depends on total number of eligible entries received for inclusion into each respective drawing from all methods combined for each Week during the Promotion Period. Odds of winning an In-Store Prize depends on total number of eligible entries received for each store during the Promotion Period.  Unclaimed prizes will not be awarded. All applicable federal, state, and local taxes on prizes are the sole responsibility of the prize winners. All prize values are reflected in U.S. dollars. Winners of prizes valued at $600 or more will receive a 1099 tax form for the approximate retail value of their prizes.

  1. GENERAL: Potential prize winners may be required to execute and return a notarized Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability Release and, where permitted by law, Publicity Release within ten (10) days after the first notification attempt. In the event a potential prize winner is a resident of Puerto Rico, he/she will have thirty (30) days after the first notification attempt to return the winner’s documents. Non-compliance with Official Rules may result in forfeiture of prize and an alternate winner may be selected. No cash equivalents (except as specified herein), substitutions or transfer of prize is permitted except that Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize element of equal or greater value in the event that any offered prize is unavailable. By participating, entrants and winners release and agree to hold harmless Sponsor, its parent company, affiliates, directors, employees, officers and agents, including without limitation, their advertising/promotional agencies from any and all liability, injury, loss or damage of any kind, including but not limited to personal injury or death, arising from or in connection with participation in the Promotion, or the awarding, receipt, possession, use or misuse of any prize and/or with respect to participation in any prize related activity.  Winners acknowledge that neither Sponsor nor its agents have made nor are in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to any prize, including, but not limited to, its quality, mechanical condition or fitness for a particular purpose. Any and all warranties and/or guarantees on a prize, if any, are subject to the manufacturers’ terms therefore and winners agree to look solely to such manufacturers for any such warranty and/or guarantee. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other error in printing, offering or announcement of prizes.  By participating in this Promotion, entrants agree to be bound by the Official Rules and the decisions of the judges, which are final and binding in all respects.

INTERNET: Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, mutilated or illegible entries nor for electronic transmission errors resulting in omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware or software malfunctions or limitations of any kind, or inaccurate transmissions of or failure to receive entry information by Sponsor or presenter on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or any combination thereof. If for any reason the Internet portion of the Promotion is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of the Sponsor which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Promotion, the Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Promotion and to award all prizes from among all eligible entries received prior to action taken by Sponsor. Caution: Any attempt by an individual to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of the game is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such individual to the fullest extent of the law.
